4th & Final Day Workshop
KARACHI, SINDH – July 18, 2025 – The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) successfully concluded its four-day workshop on “Maritime Economy Opportunities & Challenges” at the Al-Beruni Auditorium. The event was held in collaboration with the Balochistan Council on Foreign Relations (BCFR) and Team Balochistan.
The final day’s proceedings included discussions on prospects for fisheries and aqua culture, maritime education, and workforce development. Guest speakers included Dr. Nazia Sher, Research Associate NIMA; Mr. M H Lodhi, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT); and Mr. Shahid Amjad, Professor and HOD of the Department of Environment & Energy Management and Industrial Management – IOBM.
The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of President NIMA, Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed(Retd) HI(M), as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Nadira Panjwani, HI, SI, Chairperson of the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR), as the Guest of Honor.
President NIMA, Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed, delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the importance of maritime economy and its potential for growth and development. Director NIMA, Commodore (Retd) Masud Akram, also delivered a speech, emphasizing the role of NIMA in promoting maritime awareness and education.
Chairman BCFR & Team Balochistan, Changgaiz Hussain Khan, summed up the workshop with the importance of the workshop.

Certificates were distributed to all participants, marking the successful completion of the workshop. Shields and souvenirs were also exchanged between the dignitaries and guest speakers as a token of appreciation.
The event aimed to foster dialogue and understanding within the maritime sector, and participants praised the thought-provoking discussions and valuable insights gained throughout the four-day program.
